We are getting married this summer and are very excited that you will be joining us.

This guide will provide some details of what you can expect from a July weekend in Zürich, for an intimate get-together with our family and best friends, before a big(ger) fat(ter) Cypriot Wedding in Protaras in October 2027.

Zürich is incredible in July - what to expect

☀️ 8hrs of sunshine per day.

🔥 Warm-to-hot days, averaging 25°C and peaking at >30°C. Nights are a cool and comfortable 15°C.

🌅 The sun never sets before 9pm, and the lake and rivers are ~20°C. Bring your swimsuits.

☂️ Summer storms can be intense, but they are usually over quickly. Bring a jacket.

🌵 There is 0% chance of rain on the day of the wedding itself.

🥐 Münsterhof
The groom will be at Münsterhof at 11am, to ensure he is not late for his own wedding waiting for the bride to arrive.
He will be looking for company for coffee and gipfeli should anyone like to join. A gipfeli is a Swiss croissant - it's identical to the French croissant, only more expensive.

💒 Stadthaus
Like everyone who is anyone Zürich, we will get married at the Stadthaus. It has been the seat of the Zürich government since 1900 and is a literal work of art.
An undefined - but small - number of people fit inside the secret chamber; but everyone can bask in the sun and enjoy a coffee or a drink in one of Zürich's nicest squares just outside.

Swiss weddings are like the Swiss themselves - efficient and on schedule. We'll be done by 1150.
We're not sure if we can get away with rice-throwing in the middle of town, but there will at least be some drinks to toast.

🛥️ Boat
A couple of small boats will be waiting at the pier across the street; at 47°22'08.9"N 8°32'32.8"E to be exact.
By this point everyone should have figured out whom they would like to share a 15min boat ride with, so we will not formally arrange groups.
It's just shy of 3 miles by boat out of the city and down the lake of Zürich to lunch.

We will be at Fischer's Fritz for the remainder of the day. Think Swiss Wedding x Beach.
Food will be casual. Fisch-Knusperli and French Fries are a staple of the Zobrist summer diet.
Until the evening
🏖️ Beach
There's acres of space for your kids to run around (and you to run after them).
Expect to be barefoot and unbutton shirts. We will be swimming - so bring your swimsuits and towels.
